The Active Fence Sensor (AFS) is a fence-mounted sensor system that provides active detection of intrusion attempts.

Pulses are continually transmitted through the sensor line and vibration sensitive sensors, mounted approximately every 3 metres along the fence, will reflect the pulse when there is a physical disturbance such as cutting, lifting or climbing.

Sophisticated algorithms allow the AFS Controllers to discount reflected pulses that are generated by broad area effects such as wind or aircraft propeller and jet wash thereby dramatically eliminating nuisance alarms.

The result is a highly reliable sensor that will not only provide very high probability of detection and lowest rates of false alarms, but also present the location of event to within + 10 metres.

The accuracy of event detection is ideal for direction of cameras for event interrogation and provides security personnel with location data to inform their response.

The AFS is available as:

• Software Version – that provides PC graphic display of events for unlimited lengths of fence line, and
• Keypad Version - for perimeters up to approximately 800 metres where a PC is not desired and simplified alarms or alerts are presented.
